From all the hp ratings I've seen on a Mercruiser 5.0L, they were all rated at 260 hp, sorry can't remember at what rpm.....Are you considering a survey?

I have a 2002 300DA with the 5.0L...they are 260hp. This model also has a cockpit table. There is also another "filler" piece the same size as the cockpit table that is used to fill in the the area between the back 2 seats. There is a vinyl pad that then goes on top so you have a huge sunpad. The 300 is a very nice boat and has served us well, but we are looking for a 340DA or 360DA.

If it's an EFI engine (throttle body injectors - "glorified carb") it's 240HP. If it's an MPI engine (8 injectors, each by it's appropriate cylinder) it's 260HP. This ('02) is around the time that Sea Ray started phasing in the MPI small blocks. It could be either one.

Good luck on the buy - from first impressions, it sounds like a good deal!

thanks for the info. due to the type of boating I do I want to have outdrives, so this is about as big as I can go. I run a river and beach the boat at times and underwater gear would get torn up, plus, I want to trailer it.

Are you considering a survey?

yes, it's a MM boat, but since it's been sitting in the water (fresh) for some length of time and it's not certified pre-owned, I would get a survey done.

Here's a link to the boat

Very important.
Have you sea trialed the boat yet? Make sure you load her up with a few people, full fuel and water to see if you are happy with the way she performs with those engines.
