So I purchased a new to me 07 52 Sedan Bridge late this summer and it’s been quite the learning experience with diesels. So I was told the air filters needed to be replaced on our QSM11’s by the survey mechanic. Attached, they look fine to me from the outside. I have read on Seaboard Marine that the stock air filters tend to rust and degrade internally causing internal issues to the engine/turbo’s. All said I wanted to removed the filters myself and take a look inside one to get a better idea. Should be easy... I thought since I am pretty hands-on when it comes to general maintenance. Anyway, I didn’t get very far since the filter seems to be sealed/stuck to the flange. I didn’t work to hard on it but thought you guys may have run across this issue already. any ideas or tips?
