If you listen closely you can hear the gunshots...

I hear them but not sure what they are from. Shotguns fired by hunters nearby? Maybe i missed a major news story?

Joe, you had a long season. It was great getting the chance to meet you down at Milliken St Harbor in Detroit this summer. I hope we meet up next season out on the lake. Have a great winter, I'll have a cold one for you when the boats get wet again!!!!
It was great meeting you also Brent. Love your boat. I'll save room for a cold one.

The Chicago Harbor system closes tomorrow, October 31. We put her to sleep today down the Chicago river. I'll try to attach a video of the Amtrak bridge on the Chicago river opening - a vertical lift bridge. Pretty cool to see!

We did that a few times (except in sailboats) We always organized a flotilla of at least 10-12 sailboats to go through the locks and bridges at the same time.

We call them, friends, and hope to get some venison...

We had a mature doe standing on the end of our dock this afternoon. As I tried to get a camera to take a pic she saw me moving in the living room and got spooked. Did a clumsy job of turning around on the dock, stumbled back to land and took off running like a stuck hog.

It's amazing we have a place like that in the USA.... 594 car jackings this year ....shot in the junk O Meter ?!....yikes

I heard a joke similar to my earlier post: If you hold a piece of Chicago deep dish pizza to your ear you can hear the gunfire...

Leaky intake valve so it's heated storage for us this year to have work done .Usually shrink wrapped. We will be replacing the carpet in the cabin with Plasteak so we'll be able to get that done.Kind of odd not going through all the steps to but the boat away for the winter though.View attachment 61517
So jealous - would love to store my boat inside like this. I could get some much done.

Boat was shrink wrapped this week between rain and light snow days, took the cockpit cover to store inside and everything seemed nice and dry. Was planning on grabbing the $9 DampRid buckets this year but never got around to it, hopefully I don't have a carpet issue come spring since the desiccant bags they throw in there never seem adequate.
