Never traveled to pib by boat. Is there anything important I should now before pulling into the bay. Are there communications clear and easy to understand.

Do not go in through the west side of the little island in the harbor. It's shallow there. Remember to come down to no wake, and keep in line with the ferry bouys, keeping them to starboard. You'll see a gaggle of mooring bouys off to starboard as you pull in; leave them to starboard and come right up to the city docks. From there you can turn to starboard 90 degrees or so and paralell the shoreline going right in front of the big pier with the gas docks and pump-out station. Where will you be docking?

Good advise! That little island, i believe it is called Gibralter needs to be west of your approach. If you come in with the island to your east you will join many other boats with no bottoms.

I like to use the mooring buoys but the water taxi only runs to midnight so make sure you make the last ride to your boat. Unless you are lucky enough to have a dinghy.

When coming in from the west there is a red can north of Gibraltar, you don't want to cut inside of that. people do but there are boulders there that can get ya. When coming from the east stay far east of south bass island until you get to the channel between south bass and middle bass, it is marked fairly well but unless you know the waters be careful of the reefs to the east of south bass. I usually get a mooring ball through boardwalk they are on channel 10 but miller's docks take reservation up to 2 weeks prior and the public docks are always good for entertainment too. but they raft off up to 4 deep so you can get stuck there for a while if you're wanting to leave the party early. always a good time at put in bay hope you make it up.
