Hello, I have found a 1997 Sea Ray 215 Express Cruiser with a 5.7 2bbl Alpha-1 drive that seems to be in nice shape. The hour meter reads 180 hours. What do you guys think about the 1997 model 5.7 2bbl 210 hp. with it's flat tappets vs. a 1998 5.7 2bbl or newer with roller lifters and 250 hp. I like the boat but would like a little performance but don’t want something that is always at the gas pump. Would you recommend one over the other or should I keep looking and also find a newer Sea Ray 215 Express Cruiser with EFI? Is the 1997 model alpha-1 drive a good model?
