I decided on what I wanted, what style and what fits us and our price point without borrowing money. 268 Sundancer it was. But which one? Living near Green Bay now and a long haul trucker I had opportunity to look at a few in Michigan. This left me with power plant questions. But closer to home and not close enough for me to look at, I sent my son and my girl to look at that. While looking at it via video call we all liked it and decided I needed to see it personally as it looked like it was the one. That was last week.
So today my son and I drove down to hear her run, and if I deemed it a good deal, hand the cash over and hook it to our Dodge. And that's how it went.
Now she isn't perfect, and the price reflects that. I look forward to going through it, taking care of the little things that could use attention.
I do a motorsports YouTube Channel. This boat will be in that as i start working on her and putting her on the water.
As soon as we hitched up it started to pour. And rain it did all the way home. But thats normal for us. It rains a lot on us when we do something with boats.
Oh, as for power, 454 spinning a Bravo 2. And yes, there is a story behind that V10 Dodge. Not sure if I'm allowed to mention my YouTube Channel. Hopefully someone can clarify that.

I know it's good luck for weddings...but it must also be good luck for boat pickups?? :)

Congrats on the new to you boat! Get her in the water, winter isn't too far away for us crazy northerners...

I'll tell ya, it made for an interesting trip home. But nothing patients and persistence pays off. Got her parked next to our apartment now so we can give her a good cleaning so we can do just that.

I really enjoyed the 268DA we had. I put a couple thousand hours on the 7.4L/Bravo 1. Most of the hours were on Lake Michigan trolling for salmon/trout. Once we began cruising, moving up a bit in size became a desire but that 268 was the perfect compromise for us between size (trailerable) and livability (mid cabin and dinette). Hard to believe the docks in this photo are now nearly submerged (Mackinac Island 2002).

The trailering was the driver for us. Living by Green Bay Wisconsin, we have Lake Michigan and Lake Winnebago and its lake and river system. The Fox River connects them, but the locks are not open still end to end. Bigger would be nice. But I need to trailer to get to all our favorite spots. Plus we plan to go greater distances to see family and explore. The trailer makes it more economical.
