Hi,

I've bought a 1991 SeaRay Sundancer 270DA with a Bravo One stern and a Merc 7.4 litre engine. She does not have a prop on it and I am wondering what is recommended for this boat/engine/outdrive? Would a Mirage 19" pitch be the right choice? Anyone with same boat configuration can help me :) ?

Thanks in advance!

Max

Sea Ray does not list a 1991 270DA with Bravo I. The only configuration Sea Ray lists with the 7.4L (330 HP) is the Bravo 2 2.00:1. 17.75x21. 4600 WOT

The 1991 270DA came standard with the 7.4L MerCruiser Bravo II Stern Drive (330 HP) - optional were the Twin 4.3L MerCruiser Alpha I (T-175 HP) and Twin 4.3LX MerCruiser Alpha I (T-205 HP)

Also, congratulations and welcome!

Strange that the boat wouldn't have a prop. or the seller wouldn't know what specs. for the prop.

Sea Ray has a customer service number you can call with your HIN and they should be able to tell you what size and pitch for the standard prop.

My 90 270 had a Bravo 1 (1.5 ratio), I ran a 19 pitch Mirage 3 blade@ 4400 RPM netted 44 mph.My 330 had the same props,I switched to Revolution 4s 18 pitch which resulted in faster time to plane, stays on plane at lower RPM and they run smoother. There are prop shops that do have a test a prop programs.
