My 190 bowrider has trouble pulling out an adult skier at sea level (4.3L). What prop would work best? I don't need fast cruising speeds.
Any help is appreciated.

I'd look into something like a High Five (5 blade), I had one on my Pachanga and it used to pop the boat on plane like a jet ski. I'm surprised you are having trouble, I've ski'd behind a 92 20' open bow with the same motor without any issue.

bbimsom - I have a 185 with the 4.3l MPI. Currently running a 21p High 5 and I have no problems with pulling someone up on 2 ski's or wakeboard, but it is a little slower on a mono ski (ok so it is trying to pull somone over 6 feet tall and weighing 15 stone). I will be changing my prop to a 19p High 5 as I want a better hole shot when mono-skiing. It should also help to control lower speeds when wakeboarding. Adding smart tabs will also make a big difference.

However, compared to the standard ali 3 blade prop at 23p the High 5 is night and day in terms of performance, hold etc.

Hope this helps.

Before you spend money on a prop, consider adding Smart Tabs. For one, they're less expensive than a prop (especially a stainless). Plus, they should give you more "pop" out of the water without having to worry about over-revving your engine. They will also give you a better ride by keeping the bow better planted when the water gets a little choppy (keeps the bow from bouncing).

You might try one of these. They should have enough bite to do the job...

I think this is the same guy doing my Propscan?
