86sundancer

Hello all. I am new to this site and just signed up. I have 1986 Searay Sundancer that I have for a bout 5 years now. I was wondering if anyone else that may have the same boat would have some input on prop size specifications. When I purchased the boat I believe there was a 14.5x15 prop on the boat and I just could not seem to good performance with that prop. I needed to be at around 3500 rpms just to keep it on plane. I went to a Michigan 16x16 prop and seems to perform much better. I can now cruise at aroud 3000-3200 rpm and keep in on plane at around 20 mph (gps speed). Of course If I have a full fuel tank (100 gal) and 4 or 5 people on board that changes a lot. I know that the boat is underpowered. It weighs about 5200 lbs dry weight. If anyone else has the same boat and could give me some input as far as their set up, that would be great. Any input is greatly appreaciated.
