I think I'm missing mine. It should be protruding (sp?) right behind the outer most prop, right?

Thanks,

There is a hole in the end of the prop shaft. The Zinc is normally bolted into that hole. Yours either fell off or the dealer forgot to install it.

Tis true, my 2000 didn't have one. We ran around the boat yard telling everyone last year to get the add on kit and the results were amazing from last spring to this year. Much LESS corrosion, and I had no new corrosion on my drive. Unfortunately, merc was out of hte replacement anodes this spring (back ordered) so I just scrubbed mine up with a wire brush as it is still at about 90% and will replace later in the summer.

They are worth the $60-100 bucks to retrofit.

What year is yours?

Mine's a 2007, so I'm pretty sure the dealer just forgot to install. The prop zinc is about $15. The full kit for B3 is about $60-80 depending on your source.

It really makes a difference. I added the one from boatzincs.com and it was nearly gone after 5 months. Since your prop shaft has the threaded hole, it will be easy to install.
