Prop shaft break on 07 340

What is involved in alignment? I know it is a task left to a professional, but I would like to know what they are supposed to do, and how they do it...
Doublechecked. Forbidden fruit. Sorry. Alignment fast and easy to do good enough. Take longer to do perfect. Easy to do wrong.

Frank,

I need to get bottom paint and I want to get re-aligned. Should I get aligned, then pulled for bottom paint, or, should I get pulled for bottom paint, splashed, wait a long time, then get re-aligned.

I've had one broken shaft in 40 years of boating. It was a brand new 1993 37 foot SR and it happened shortly after the boat was delivered. We haul every year and launch after 6 months on keel blocks and jack stands. The alignment never seems to change and this is with many different boats from Chris Crafts to SRs to a Tiara which is 5 years old now. My experience suggest you don't need to do anything other than check it once you are in the water.

With regards to tolerances, i have just had my 1994 Sundancer 440 delivered & the shafts fitted & balanced with the following results, does anyone know if these are within spec.
Starboard 4 thou @ flange, 6 thou @ "P" bracket & 0 thou @ shaft prop end
Port side 2 thou @ flange, 4 thou @ "P" bracket & 0 thou @ shaft prop end
