Under load at idol speed my RPMs via digital tach are within 5 of each other and rudders at 0. Boat steers to the right. Up cruising with the auto pilot set, rudders at 3 to keep it going straight. I am assuming I need to pull my props and have them scanned and made equal. Anything else it could be? Much appreciated.

Are you just using the auto pilot to determine the rudder angle at idle? Possibly, the auto pilot just needs to be re-calibrated.

Or possibly the gauge itself needs to be recalculated. My rudder position gauge is off by just a but. When I'm cruising straight at idle the gauge shows a couple of degrees to the stbd side. I can live with that.

Are the tabs fully retracted? Could the rudders be off - isn't there a process to set them toed in slightly? You need to come ride in my little single I/O, if I left my wheel on center it looks like a drunk driving all over the place! I will say on my 290 (twin I/O's) it initially pulled to STBD and we adjusted the steering arm on the STBD outdirve to correct it.

No, not using my autopilot at idle, only at cruise speed. Tabs fully retracted. Yes, the electronic gauge could be off. When at idle and at "center" the boat turn right slightly. I will try and see how to recalibrate it first.

Thank you.

Well not sure what else to point it at other than the props are not equal. Running with zero wind or current today I was at 3 left to make the boat track straight at idle speed. Take engines out of gear and boat turns slightly left.
