I have a 2000 340, and had props reconditioned. I'm wondering best way to get a good amount of torque on the nuts. The tunnel is tough to wedge a block of wood against blade, and im not sure the prop would take the force? I read its not the way to go. But, how else can I get 200lbs of torque by searay spec?
Anyone have experience with doing this properly?

This should give you the info you need. You also need to verify your prop specs with the table at the bottom of the page:

I clamp and old zinc to the shaft and put a pipe wrench on the zinc. Put a board between the pipe wrench and the hull so you don't chip off the paint.

200 LBFt will not bend a blade. That is a 200 pound man hanging off a 12 inch lever. A wood block between the blade and hull is the best method with a torque wrench. You might also use a strap wrench on the transmission hub but why the hassle for such a low torque value?
Thin nut on first then the thick one both torqued to the value. The nuts are bronze which is a relatively soft metal and over-torqueing will yield the threads and reduce the clamping force needed for the prop; never use impact to install the prop nuts.
