We bought this boat at the end of last year and I have not had a chance to get it set up the way I want it. So this will be my build thread for the projects I have planned to be completed prior to the upcoming season. My boat is currently in storage still (because its snowing here today :smt089), but I am picking it up this Friday and work begins Saturday morn bright and early. :smt038

Here is my to do list:

1. Install a rod holder to hold my grill.

2. Upgrade stereo. New head unit, new 6.5 speakers, Im adding 2 more 6.5 speakers (for a total of 4), adding an amp and a subwoofer.

3. Build a black walnut table top for the stern seating in the boat (mine did not have one from the factory), along with the flush floor mount. (thanks Nehalennia for the info)

4. Remove carpet in the cabin and put in this product. http://www.congoleum.com/res-products.php?product_line=duraceramic

5. Buff and wax the outside (rub rail down).

Thats the plan so far, Im sure things will change here and there as I go, but thats how it goes. Any opinions or advice anyone has please feel free to add.

Subscribed Chris... looks like you have a good list of things to do... best of luck..

That list looks like it's big enough now to keep you busy for awhile.
FYI, you should already have 4 speakers, 2 in the cabin and two outside in the cockpit. I'd like to add a couple in the cockpit as well.
The challenge you may have with the linoleum is the cabin floor isn't flat. You'll see once you yard the carpet out that the cabin floor has many compound corners.
Take pics so we can share in your progress.

I think I want to do the rod holding thing too. But I have a feeling my teak rails are in the way. I may try and design a holder that clamps onto the rail.

I do have 4 as you stated, What I mean to say is that I will have a total of 4, 6.5" speakers out in the cockpit area along with the 2 in the cabin. Technically 6 total. Should of been more clear. I will post lots of pics, stay tuned. :)

The spot I have in mind is just behind the sink on the starboard gunwale.

i have the same boat and added a clamp on rod holder to the grab rail on the rear exterior storage compartment. I can put my grill there or an umbrella or even a fishing pole.

I had an 05 260 DA and added two rod holders right behind the radar arch about 6 inches back. I also added speakers on deck I took two pcs of Versatex (like starboard) to add clearance, I then added two at the acces holes on the radar arch. I upgraded my two stock speakers as well. I had the CD changerso I left my stock amp.

Well I got her home and started right in on the stereo. I removed the old one and took down a bunch of wall panels in the area to run wires. Got my amp and wiring kit and the new-to-me head unit out and ready to start mounting things.

Got the rod holder in and the grill set it in. It will work out well by the sink.

I replaced the 2 cockpit speakers with these 6.5's.

I have 2 more 6.5" (not shown) that I need to find spots for and get mounted. I also found a spot for the subwoofer. It was the only spot available that it would fit really, and it looks like it will work well. It on the port side all the way back.

My dad brought the new table he built. Still needs to be finished. This gives you an idea of what it will look like.

Overall a good day. Thanks to my dad for coming down to help me and to my wife for giving me some time to spend working on it!!!

The table looks great. Round the corners or you'll regret it. As you know it's a tight fit if two pass by. A corner in your thigh won't feel good. Otherwise it's very nice

HAHA my dad said the same thing, or a kid catching a corner to the head. We are not going to round the corners though, because Im going to have a 1/2" lip around the table for spills. Bending the lip around the corner would be tough. So he is going to cut the corners so there is approx 3" of flat. Which will still be a corner, but they wont be as sharp. The outside of the table (nearest the gunwale) will be left sharp to fit the lines of the boat. He is going to stain it, then we are going to add the sea ray logo on it then cover it with a few coats of urethane.
