ANY snap repair tool that less than $100 to $150. I bought the cheap one at first...waste of time, snaps and most importantly money!

Another thread suggested the "commercial" tool from Great Lakes. Called, bought it for about $150, now I am very happy. It works great with multiple varieties of snaps, grommets, etc.

Not sure I will lend it out to dock neighbors though....still pondering that one....had a few tools go in the drink in the past.

rolloff for your vinyl

What's the matter with roll off for you vinyl?

Avoid using Mr Clean magic eraser on your cockpit vinyl or any fiberglass surface.

It may do an excellent easy clean up job but it is abrasive and will damage the vinyl and put small scratches in the fiberglass.

I can see how damage to both can occur, but I've had good experiences on both seat vinyl and fiberglass with this product....just my experience and of course your mileage may vary.

3M 5200, never use it for anything. At some time in the future you will have to take it apart again.

If not 3M 5200 than what to close up a through hull hole. (say that 3X fast). I have to replace the transducer on my 330 SD and it mounts on the outside at the base of the transom. What would you suggest is the best way to seal the hole where the wire enters the engine compartment? thanks:huh:

Thanks. As luck would have it, I have some missing snaps from my carpet that need replaced.
