I've had my boat for about a year now. Always started right up and ran great (3.0 Merc). Took it out today for a cruise. Cruised for about 45 mins at 3000 rpm. Slowed the boat down and put it back to neutral. The engine sputtered a bit then died. Tried to restart with no luck. After a few mins of trying I took the flame arrester off the carb. Fuel was filling the carb. Figured maybe float stuck. Worked the throttle and it stopped. Got it to eventually fire up at full throttle and them ran perfect all the way back in. Does this sound like a stuck float or something else? Could it be a one time thing or should I expect it to keep happening without a carb rebuild?
