I have a 9 year old Sony Digital 8 Cam Corder that has and is serving us well. With HD TV and the increase in picture quality that the provide, I am considering a move to a used "pro-style"
HD Video camera.

I have the digital SLR thing down and would like any members advice on these rigs. Start at the beginning with me because I have a lot to learn. I think I am choosing either Canon or Sony but I have an open mind.

Thanks,

John F.

Its not a pro version, but we have the HV-30. We love it. Its not the ultimate, but the image in good lighting is amazing!

The HV-30 is the newer version of the hv-20 which has its own HUGE following forum because of the image quality/price. They still haven't made a better lower cost camera to this date. The hv-20 is still rated at the top for many reasons.

Stay away from units that use funky compression formats. They are a bear to work with in editing.

Good luck!!!!

B and H is very fast....
