Hey all, we decided to list our boat about 2 months ago but still have not to this day even had 1 person look at our boat. Below is link to our boat ad. Anyone have any input if you think it's priced right? I would of thought in 2 months we would of at least had someone look at it by now(I know economy of boats this price isn't great, but didn't think it was this bad). Thinking of lowering the price again? We are in no rush to sell as don't need to get rid of it but thinking why keep paying slip fees, ins, etc when it's just sitting now (we just had a baby, so that is keeping us pretty occupied for the time being). Thanks for any thoughts!

I don't know what these are actually selling for but your asking price seems to be pretty much in line with other 07-08 310DAs I have seen listed for sale near me. I don't have a clue what the boat market is like in Florida. Maybe a little high but certainly not so high that would cause you to get no lookers or offers (in my opinion). I know what it would cost to replace it with a new one of the exact model and you are WAY under that. Has your broker checked to see what comp boats are selling for?

What I usually do is look at what the next model or two up are selling for to compare. I would look at where 330s and 340s are listed at in your area. If they are close to you, price-wise, that may explain a bit.

I see you have it brokered. What is the broker doing to try and sell it other than taking out an ad in Yachtworld? With not even any lookers in 2 months, maybe he needs to step up his game a bit? He is no doubt going to be paid well when this boat sells so I am suprised he has not gotten anyone to even view it.

Good Luck! Hope this helped! Beautiful Boat!

Edit- Obviously, I am not a broker but the way your post was structured it appeared you were asking for a response from anyone who cared to do so. I am an avid browser of Sea Ray classified listings though.

I could email this to you but I'll try to post it here.

These are sold from August 1st 2010 - December 31st 2010.

The first price is the asking price and the second price to the right is the actual sold price. I don't think that your asking price is too far out of line with what has sold but you might want to drop it down to somewhere in the 115k-118k range if you are getting more motivated. Its all about timing and what else is out there, meaning try to be ahead of the game with pricing. You don't want to be the last boat out there to reduce your price.

One interesting bit of info I did gather from looking at the sold boats is that the only boats with black hulls that sold are up north. Every boat sold south of NC had a white or pewter hull, a black hull is either an either love it or hate it type of thing.

Before adjusting your pricing do yourself a favor and try to look at the other listings available all over the country as if you were a buyer, if there are boats that jump out at you because of pricing, condition or overall appeal that may be exactly what other searchers are seeing as well.

Thanks for all the input so far. Seems we are in the "ball park", we'll see what happens now that the Holidays are over.

I hope you are right... we have pretty much the same boat and my fear was that 100K was the selling price about 6 months ago.

BTW... Where did the camper canvas come from... I didn't think it was available for the 2007 310?

Great Info Carver! This is a great site!

FYI- I am 99% sure the one in VA that was listed for 99 and sold for 95 was a REPO (and needed some love) so don't be discouraged by that one.

I only know this because I was in the process of trying to decide whether or not to make an offer on it and then it was sold. Could be a coincidence but the location, date and listing price match up perfectly.

Correct, but the other one in VA that sold for 95K was not a repo.

It wasn't an option as far as I know, when buying the boat I negotiated to have the local dealer broker out to a company to have it custom built for the boat.

Is your boat for sale as well? Did it sell? Or were you just thinking of selling it?

Not for sale... I watch the values to see if I'm upside down or not.

I have considered the custom canvas myself.

Just a thought, if you really love the boat and boating and will get back into it soon....just keep it.

We sold our 330 for the same reasons that you listed just before having our first child. Soon we bought a trailerable boat just to get back on the water. One season of dealing with a baby on a 21' and I said forget it - now we have a 380. It would have been alot cheaper to have kept the 330!

Our second child has been a boater since she was 11 days old, it's really not that hard to have a baby on a cruiser.

My thoughts were exactly the same as soon as I read the first post.

We had similar situation where our new born (2nd child) changed our boating routine. At that time we had our 240DA. However, instead of selling we decided that we need a bigger boat.

You have a beautiful boat, which you've pepmpered for a while. If you can bear the expense, just keep it. Being in FL you have so much more use out of the boat. It's just a matter of time until you guys adjust having your baby on board, including all regular caring stuff. Many others did it, so can you.

Good luck and congrads on the new born.

You also have to consider how many are available in the market vs how many sold. If there are 100 available and 10 sold, it could take years to work through the inventory. If that's the case, then price is a HUGE factor in what's going to get sold first.

Thanks for all the input. Actually it's not the child that made us decide to get rid of it, as I grew up on boats since I was 3 months old myself and would love to do the same for our daughter now. We actually just recently bought a summer lake house up in Michigan on Lake Huron, so we'll now be spending a lot of summer and some time in the spring and fall up there, so that really cuts down on how much we'll be able to boat down in FL. We plan on getting something smaller to use around here in the winter and then can take up to Michigan and eventually leave up there for our house there.

As for boats our size for sale, according to Yachworld there are only 4 other boats in the SouthEast of our make and model for sale. Ranging from 109,000 to 149,999.

I do not know your financial situation.

One person said this to me.

If you just want it gone, put it on e-bay with no reserve. It will be gone. Not for top dollar, possibly far less, but it will be gone.
