Prayers for all of you about to face hurricane Florence

Truly wish you all the best. We were faced with Hurricane Harvey last year and it is humbling to say the least. Do what you can to secure your belonging, but understand your life is the most precious thing you have. Don't be a hero, I picked up herds of folks who waited until it was too late. Leave now, why not?

If I can help you in any way, communications, phone tree, supplies, anything after the storm, let me know. CSR is here for you folks!

Please be safe and may God look after all of you facing this devastating storm. Having lived through Super Storm Sandy I can surely relate to what you are and will be going through. Take care of yourselves first, everything else can be replaced.

Friends of mine are live-aboards in Virginia Beach. They stopped responding to texts yesterday - they're probably sick of getting bombarded with questions from concerned friends and family all over the country.

We are in "bounce around projection mode" right now. I am in Beaufort, SC. We initially had a mandatory evacuation but then it was lifted yesterday. Now expecting it to be reinstated. Although county sheriffs department just held a press conference and said our county is now in "standby and monitor" mode. I moved the 400DB to my usual hurricane hole on Monday.

We are home in TX, but our boat is in the Chesapeake, so watching very closely.

I subscribe to a private weather forecasting service. Yesterday they started advising that there was a possible southern turn.

This morning they are feeling pretty definite that there will be a southern turn, possibly before landfall. Their projections are right up to the coast, then possibly scraping the coast moving south with substantial impact across SC and GA (long shot N FL).

These storms change and you can't eliminate any possible impact area. Best thing is to be prepared if you are in any close area.

To my brothers and sisters in the FD and EMS, be smart and be safe. To those that choose to stay when you're told to go. It's not just your life you have chosen to risk.

If you are trying to come to the Williamsburg area be advised fuel and water is getting tight and hard to find. Prices for both have already jumped.
