Hi guys
After selling our last boat a few years ago, I got the big time bug again and back in the market. We're considering an early 2000's three stateroom 450 Express Bridge but I can't find much info on fuel burn/cruise speed etc.

I looked on Boattest.com and checked the archives on Sea Ray.com but came up empty

Anybody have any real world numbers they can share with me? Specifically with the Cummins CT6 motors.

TIA

Welcome! I have the 2 stateroom version of that boat with the Cummins 480 CE motors. Loaded up with fuel, water and gear, I cruise at about 20kts. At that speed I'm burning about 40 gallons per hour. Wide open, I can get roughly 26kts and at that speed I'm burning about 51 gallons per hour. This is a really solid boat and I've been very happy with it. It's a bridge boat that handles very well and shares the hull with the 450 Sundancer.

Nah, it's just the extra resistance from dragging the fenders in the water. :) Just doing a little "instigating" of my own! ;)

Lol at Larry.

Actually it's funny you mention extra resistance. I just had the boat pulled and the bottom painted before the winter. I last had this done 1.5 years ago but did have a diver clean the bottom 4 times since then. The change in performance was remarkable. I gained 5 knots in speed but more importantly to me, I burn 8 gallons an hour less at cruise now. I would not have believed just new paint would have made this difference alone. I guess a diver cannot get a bottom totally clean.

That's a pretty impressive difference - use the boat enough and the paint job will pay for itself! Was it just a "power wash and paint" type thing, or did they blast all the old stuff off, first?
