Post Your Top Speed

Finally got a chance to get the boat wide open with just the 4 kids on it with me and a half tank of gas.

53.7 GPS. I'm still waiting on a time just the wife will take it out by herself. Hoping to hit close to 55. :)

Jet ski was 68.9 gps, stock. With my 220lbs on it. Its a blast to ride, but drinks the gas as fast as I can fill it up.

I got 49mph via GPS, wife on board, 3/4 full tank last summer. Haven't tried this summer yet.

30.6MPH, WOT 4400RPM, 50GPH (floscans), 190 gallons of gasoline, no water, 1/2 holding tank, 4 adults 3 kids. for maybe 18 seconds. if i had the balls to sustain this clip, i might have been able to get her up over 32 MPH(??)

45.6 mph (GPS), into a slight head wind, full tank of gas, full water tank, not trimmed, just me on board. I had another 4 mph easy but the bay that I was in wasn't big enough, had to pull back.

Not trimmed?? If so, that's an awful lot of stress.

50 even GPS. Full load of fuel and water, 7 on board. The only chance I've had to go out with only one other person a lite fuel, the trim wouldn't work. I'm guessing 55 -57.

A MIND BLOWING 34.5 MPH (gps) @4000 RPM full fuel (250gal) and just the admiral and myself.

68.5 MPH in a stock 22' Pachanga with a 454 and a bravo I out drive .
Fuel is too expensive to care in the 390 Sundancer.

61 MPH spedo. in my new 2007 220 Sundeck (5.7 MAG Bravo III) with smart tabs installed two in the boat and full fuel.

50.5 mph with 8 people on board and 1/2 tank (100gals of fuel). I was going down river with a 4-5 mph current! Measured on GPS. Unbelieveable! What a ride with those
454's screaming away!!!

are you sure about that!? along with the 100 gallons of gasoline, how much nitro was pumping?!

BIII's Baby plus 454's = FAST!!!! I was shocked myself! I typically can get 46-47mph that is why the current must have helped push me over the edge. I have 4 witnesses. BTW, no nitro allowed.

1999 330DA - 32 kts @ 50 GPH with full fuel and water
2004 MSX 150 60 mph with one rider
1998 Mark VIII - 136 (electronically limited :( )
2005 Vanden Plas 122 (electronically limited - pussies)

The dealer claims 68 mph for the 2008 RXT-X I have on order and 72 or so with a Riva grate and impeller. We'll see.

Brought the camera along for a ride on the Sea Doo RXT-X. Don't have a hand-held GPS, so this will have to do for now. Was hitting against the rev limiter. Need more pitch on the wheel.

Best regards,
Frank C

Top speed in the absence of unusual currents or wind is 54.7 (on GPS) burning 29 GPH (on Smartcraft) @ 4800 RPMS.

One time only, I reached 57.3 (on GPS) with a tail wind and current. @ 4800 RPMS.

I agree with some of the comments above that top speed numbers matter less than comfortable crusing speeds.

I just completed a 160 mile trip in a single day. In calm morning water on the Hudson River and LI Sound, I was cruising very comfortably at about 40 MPH (GPS) burning 19.2 GPH (Smartcraft) with the tabs off @ 3800 RPMS. With the tabs down, speed dropped to 38.7 MPH(GPS) but the swells and chop of the Sound and Hudson were barely felt @ 3800 RPMS.

Top speed = 41 mph, 68 gph, 4650 rpms; Cruise = 31 mph, 36 gph, 3550. Speed data was measured with GPS, Air temp 62 degrees, water temp 51 degrees, light chop on Lake Michigan. Props were newly prop scanned, and boat had full fuel, full holding tank, full water and 2 persons on board.
