Post Your Top Speed

7.4 Merc 454 bravo II ...32mph gps 18.5 X 17p cupped SS powertech prop...this thread is meaningless if you do not have your boat info in your signature.

Doug, your 45 is right on. I got ours up to 48 last year, last day of the year as I was bringing her to the marinemax shop to have her pulled for the season. I said 'damn it, I'm gonne hit the throttle full down and see what happens!' Of course I was by myself with calm bay water, no breeze, 1/2 on gas and no water in the tanks. These mid sized sport cruiser's can move with the T5.0 set-up. Can you do that in a 40' oil burner...?

42.5 mph - GPS - factory setup - me alone, aprox. 1/2 in all tanks, basic gear - sunset slick.

33 knts gps. About 300 gals of fuel and 7 adults on board. During seatrial in calm salt water. Empty cabin and water tank.

Honestly. . . I do not notice the difference between 1 passenger and fumes in tank and 4 passengers 125 gallons aboard.

One time I had total of nine passengers with full fuel. . .and I think under those conditions I noted a 2mph hit on GPS at cruise RPM. . .but the bay was far from flat.

I like my boat :)

43 gps mph 4200 rpm 22gal fuel pr hr
30 ........... 3000.... 10................
3600 ft elevation 15x19 mercury mirage pluse prop
full fuel tank(70gal) no water all gear and supplys
trailer and boat with full tank weight 6900 so we figure boat is around 6300or 6200 in the water

I knew this was a Sport boat thread, I'm not sure I care what my top end is, I'm more of a bottom end Man... I once road in a 22 Pachanga on Higgins Lake Michigan that top oout at 81 mph and Sea Ray couldn't explai it at all, they wanted the boa back for studies.. but the Doctor wouldn't give it up... it was too fast for me............

Ambiance... she will do 45 on a Good Day, but loves to go 7.5mph..

32kts based on GPS. 4 Adults, Full gas tanks, no water.
Clean bottom, and tuned props. light chop, no current.

I only do this once a season and only for a short time.

Otherwise I cruise at 3300-3400 and 21-23Kts (calm seas)

800gal fuel and full water / gear 33.8 kts GPS and 36kts over water speedo. Approx 112-116gal hr.

Low fuel and low water 36.9 kts GPS and 40kts over water speedo. Approx 112-116gal hr.

Cruise anywhere from 20kts GPS (22kts over water speedo) to 28kts GPS (30/31kts over water speedo) burning anywhere from mid/high-40's gal hr to mid/high 60's gal hr.

126 mph with my wife in a different state!!!
Mini5.jpg

42 on the boat at seatrial, GPS

At 6200 feet elevation and 3/4 throttle, 4000 rpm it hit 42 mph on one foot chop. The lake speed limit is 40 mph so I couldnt open it up. The motor gets up to 5100 rpm with the bravo III, 28p props so it has A little way to go.

1999 330DA - 32 kts @ 50 GPH with full fuel and water
2004 MSX 150 60 mph with one rider
1998 Mark VIII - 136 (electronically limited :( )
2005 Vanden Plas 122 (electronically limited - pussies)

The dealer claims 68 mph for the 2008 RXT-X I have on order and 72 or so with a Riva grate and impeller. We'll see.

Best regards,
Frank C
