We are getting our bridge enclosure redone. I really dislike the 'wavy' or 'loose' look of strataglass. Our shop suggested 60ga. Poly-carbonate called Makrolon UV manufactured by Bayer. I have seen two boats done with this material and the enclosure looks great all the panels look like glass.

Does any one have experience with this material? Boat is under a covered slip and thus sun exposure is greatly reduced.

My front three panels are ez2cy but the rest of my bridge enclosure was replaced with Makrolon last season. So far so good.

Thanks. I don't know if we have an ez2cy distributor in my area. I think the Malkron may be the only option our canvas shop has for 'rigid' panels.

bmac do you know what Malkron product was used?

I ended up getting the 60g and I couldn't be happier. It's clearer than the real windows.

Our entire bridge is EZ2CY and prob 10years old now we had it “buffed”last season and it came back amazing I’m sold on this stuff..

What does "buffed" mean?..what was wrong that it needed this process?
Some of the panels where a tad cloudy with sun exposure over the years so the EZ2CY dealer used a Makita and I guess “compounded” them back to damn near new again
Of course it won’t take out deep scratches
But using the same material for 10 years is money well spent.

I do not know which it was, though it is at least the 60 mil thickness.

Thanks

Our Canvas shop is suggesting Malkron UV.
