PO Cutting Corners-Wasted Time

I received my temp sending units. The PO had installed sending units from Auto Zone! I installed the correct ones and found out the wiring harness is bad going to the bridge! So I ran some two wires to the bridge for the temp gages! I now have operating gages!

Multiple problems made this one hard. Proper parts make it a little easier.

Old part, new part teflon tape.

Notice how the end of the sending unit sticks out just a lttle past the fitting.

Tom, that is very interesting to hear/see that. I've never used an automotive sender, but... There's places where I would use an automotive part and there are times when I definitely would not use an automotive part. But in this case I would have thought it would be fine. Thanks for posting this! It's always good to learn something.
