According to Philadelphia 8th District Councilwoman Cindy Bass, shopkeepers protecting themselves with bulletproof plexiglass represents an "indignity" to her constituents and should therefore be banned.

Could it be because her constituents are complaing those stores are too hard to rob

The college I went to replaced the windows in the ROTC building on a regular basis in the late 60's. Around 1969 they went to plexiglas of some sort. Buts then the bricks and stones sometimes bounced back on the throwers. That was seen as very mean of the university.
