It just means that if you do a quote of a spam post right after the spam post and put very little content of your own your post looks identical to the spam post. When we see posts like that we just have a few keystrokes to make which wipes the posts and the user out of our system permanently. Its good practice to not quote spam posts. Why would you? We could make a general announcement but then where would it end? We'd have to make announcements about everything!
CSR will end up with more safety labels than my boat has...

That explains it. Years ago I would go boating w/ a family member whose entire focus when at the helm was the the NAV display. Everyone else had to look out for hapless souls who happened to cross our path.
Now there is a sticker for that problem, go figure...

Some positions taken by politicians and governmental organizations are directly relevant to boating. Take, for example, the vow by the EPA to crack down in 2009 on CO2 emissions. In discussing the pros & cons of that as they relate to boating, it's hard to stay away from politics.
So, IMO, I think there is a definite place for political discussion in this boating forum, and not only in the holding tank, as long as it's consistent with the thread topic and isn't a hijack.
In fact, how could it logically be otherwise?
