It's not actually my boat which is why you'll find I pretty much know nothing about it...but I'm in a time sensitive situation and trying to find help so I turned to here!

1995 SeaRay 370 DA with a 7.4l GAS engine....

What should the top and cruising speed be? And would another motor be a better choice? If so which one and why? Have an appointment soon with a mechanic and trying to know as much as possible before any decisions are made.

Thank you!!

Just guessing, top end should be high 20s mph, cruise speed low 20s. Hope this helps

The only gas motor offered was the 310HP version, as this was before the "Horizon" 380 HP version was available. I concur with the others, but there are several 370DA owners here to comment. Perhaps they will chime in.

If this is a test ride. It's more important to see rated WOT. Find it on the engine sticker on the plastic cover over the carb. Should be 4000-4400 rpm or something like that.
And, see that the temp doesn't get much higher than around 170-180 max.
The actual speed isn't as important.
I'd guess 20+ cruise and 29 knots WOT or 23mph-33mph.
(my speed guess is based off my bigger boat with 7.4L)

Have fun,
