Hello,

i downloaded rayteck v.6 planning to plot at home:

-how do i transfer my routes from my pc to my c80

- how do i get more detail navionics charts for my pc .

My C80 has the east coast chart on the memory card can it help?
:smt100

thank you

When you installed the RT program it should have also installed the user guide, it will appear next to the program on the start menu...also alot of info at Raymarine .com

Can i use the navionics card reader to load up my new route ?

Can i download the data over my c80 card without damaging it or

do i need an other card?

Never, ever, use the Navionics chart card for anything other than read-only.
Buy a blank card. You should already have one. Just like the documents on your PC, you should backup all of your waypoints and routes from your C80 onto a chip.

I enter my waypoints/routes on my PC and transfer them to my plotters using the Waypoint Transfer Utility. It's free...

You can download the program and the instruction manual here:

The WTU program simply converts an Excel spreadsheet format to the format recognized by the chartplotter firmware, and vice-verse.
For me, I find it easier to enter waypoints on my PC and transfer them to the plotter, rather than entering directly into the plotter.

It's not a mapping program like the Raytech. Not familiar with that, so I'm of no help there. Just offering a possible alternative.

How do you get detail map on your PC, i just have the world chart on it.

Once you get the Navionics card reader (no way around it that I was able to find) you can take the Navionics chip from your E80 and use it in Raytek Planner.

One REALLY devilish problem that I have found if you happen to use Vista...you have to run Raytek as an administrator in order to get your waypoints to properly save on your memory card (and as other posters have said...don't use the Navionics chart card). If you don't run as administrator, the software will not give you any errors...but when you go to load the waypoints into the C80, they won't be there.:huh::smt013:smt013:smt013

All you have to do to run Raytek as administrator is to right click on the icon (instead of double clicking) and select 'run as adminstrator'. This might be disabled on a work computer, but should be fine on your home system.

WTU is a different program than the Raytek Planner. WTU is unecessary for transferring waypoints from Raytek Planner to the C80. Just save them to your memory card in Raytek, then load the card into the C80, push the 'data' button (as I recall - it might be a differnt button) and use the soft menus to import the waypoints.
