In order for people to be able to answer your questions there are two things that you will want to include in your profile/signature. Your location (this will usually tell if you are a salt water or fresh water boater). The second is the year, model, and motor/drive of your boat. We have decided not to require this during the registration process however if you want the best answers for your questions it should be in your signature.

If a new member joins take a second to tell them to complete their signature with this information. In the end it just makes it easier for everyone.

Thanks to everyone that has corrected their signature to include the information requested. Let this serve as a warning to members that do not have this information in your signature; if you do not have the information in your signature and you ask a question that requires this information; do not be surprised if some members move on and do not try and answer your questions.

There are several very smart people on this board that love helping other boaters. However they should not have to post each time someone places a post with a question, do you boat in salt water or fresh water, what year is your boat, do you have inboard or I/O.

The point is to make the board as user friendly as we can. It does not seem that it is going to be part of the registration process but this information should be placed in your signature.

Just a kindly reminder....

A couple of people have PM'd me to see how to amend the signature so I thought I would just add it here...

So how come no one that has posted in this thread so far has a sig.?

I know I have one... Why isn't it showing up?

Caused Wes posted a picture in the thread.

If the thread has pictures signatures don't display.

So, wouldn't it be easier to post your boats vitals in the VM? If someone should happen to attach a pict. of said problem along with a description we still won't know what he's driving... If you put your boats vitals in the description area on the VM you could get to them rather effortlessly and still be able to answer questions without asking questions. :smt024

Just my 2 cents...

Good point but you can always hit profile if it is in the sigature. The important thing is to provide the information whether in the signature or the marina.

Nice going Wesley. First you ask everyone to put in a signature then you wipe them out by adding a picture. :smt018

Alright, maybe its just me but, if someone is too damn lazy to put their boat type and other important information in the signature line that I am too lazy to go to the VM to find that information to properly answer the question. I fail to see what is so difficult about putting your boat type, engine, boating location etc. in the signature box. Cripes folks, this isn't Rocket Science...... :smt021 :smt021

I am tired of seeing "Hi, my boat doesn't start....what should I do ???" (first post, no information.....hell, he may have a Bayliner for all we know!!!!) :smt017

Rant off... I'm going to my boat and slam the engine hatch on my hand a few times !!! :smt101 :smt101

Oh yeah, I am having a very bad day.... :smt089

Love to all,
Frank
