Pizza thread

Yesterday I start this thread.
Today doctor appointment. Need to lose 7 pounds, so no more pizza til I do.
Life is not fair.
We got a rowing machine just before Christmas. I try to row a bit every morning - upping by a minute each day if I can. While using it I generally close my eyes and pretend I'm rowing in the harbor by my boat. Exercise + boating fantasy.

Without getting to personal, at 5’ 5”.
Before cancer I was at 165 with a hella beer gut. Like 9 months pregnant.
After cancer I dropped to 125, too skinny. So ate like a pig this last year. My ideal weight is 135. Now at 140 and I don’t want to get fat again like before. So I need to cut back before I pack it on again.

After heart attack I sneak a piece here and there. Always loved a good pizza and cold bud light. Weight wise I have went from 204 down to 158. I do cheat big time every couple weeks with the best steak I can find. My favorite is the Ruby's in Cincy. But we also do local.
Damn it I miss eating big time!

For a long while I was eating massive food amounts. half gallon chocolate milk a day, ice cream twice a day. 4 huge meals a day. Man vs Food had nothing on me.
Didnt gain a pound. Doctor said my body was using every bit of food I could feed it to recover. Then after many many months I added 5#, then another 5, and now another 5.
Now it’s like enough; time to back it down. Hit the brakes.

I've now just about made it to 71 yo and I've never cut out eating any food I want. Far from a vegetarian. ;) I'm not a gym rat, either. As long as I'm not in serious medical condition my doc knows better to put me on a special diet because I'll not going to follow it.

The true original Italian pizza from Naples (pizza Napoletana) was the Pizza Margherita ..nothing but fresh mozarella cheese, sauce (crushed fresh tomatoes) and basil ...and it is to die for done right. The key are the quality of ingredients and method of cooking (wood fired for 90 seconds). Mmmm, mmm!!

And good olive oil to dip the crust in.

I’ve only gotta lose 20 pounds to be 50 pounds overweight...

My vitals are all excellent, but working on it. Doing 5-7 miles a night on the bike but there’s still always room for pizza

and tacos, but that’s another thread...

:D

There was a place at the Jersey Shore that made a killer clam pizza, it was loaded with baby clams and garlic slices.
