Hi all, I am new to this forum and am glad to have a resource to use for help and ideas. We recently purchased a 2003 270 Sundeck and am so far very glad we got it , but what can I say the acquisition day was insane. A little story before getting into the meat and potatoes.:smt001
So I meet this girl a year ago and how cool, she has her own boat too (Sea Ray) kinda like girls with big diesel trucks,so cool, yes a connection. 6 months later we are engaged and we decide to sell both of our boats and buy one between us.
We loved the Sundeck, we love entertaining, having fun, and we love being in the sun and the water every day if we could, crazy what a match.
With spring here, we clean up the boats, post the ads but are a bit leary of selling both and not finding what we want, and being without a boat during summer:smt119. That would be hell!!
Well crazy enough it happened all in one day. We found a 2003 270 Sundeck with only 92 hr on her, that we looked at the night before but wasn't ready to put on the water for a test drive.
The next day was my last day at home. I work out of town and for you guys/ gals that work away, you know what that's like. Running around, last minute packing before going away for 2 or 3 weeks.
So ads hit like shooting fish in a barrel, My boat sells in the morning, we take the 270 for a drive in the afternoon (buy it) and sell her boat in the evening. All private buyers and private sales, felt like a boat dealer that I am not. Fun times (not) taking her boat (185 Sea Ray Sport) out with the buyers on a test drive, just as it is getting dark, rain / thunderstorm, rough waters but I wanted to get it all done so I don't leave my girl dealing with all the $hit after I am gone. The buyer was impressed at how well it handled the white caps and didn't even want to drive, just said "sold" as he was hanging on and we were enduring the pounding rain and relentless chop. Testament to a great boat, take it for a test drive when it is rough and get the feel for a boat with great hull design.
So unfortunately I only had a chance to drive our boat once, choppy out but wonderful, and am now stuck in Northern Saskachewan with for a few weeks. Wish I was home tiddling up my baby and the boat too lol, instead of being stuck here.
So 270SD owners ,have you all sold your boats and moved to Mars? I have searched the posts for a few days on this forum and see no Official 270 SD post?? Found one though the last post was 2009 , 6 years ago??? Where are you all? Show me your mods, ideas, posts? I am making a list, maybe checking it twice, of mods. Inverter for the ultimate bar mod ( blender, micro, keg tap..) new stereo and whatever else comes to mind. My girl is on the rope lights and tasteful stuff, I am more about the power and sound so throw some ideas out!!
Quick question: any one have a link to an IPC (Illustrated Parts Catalog)? for a 2003 SR270SD? There were a few links that went nowhere from the SR site and other link dead ends.
A great weekend to all, summer and fun are soon upon us:smt038
Cheers
