A friend that I boat with sent me this link to some pictures of the marinas where the sheds collapsed. I am passing this along so you all can see the devastation, but please let's not have any more posting or comments on “why was something not done before hand”! I think we have covered that subject already. To be honest I was hesitating about putting the pictures up for that reason, but I’ll take the chance that everyone viewing will understand that what is done is done, and we can only hope the boat owners recover their loss.

As you can see from the pictures, it is very lucky no one was hurt on killed. One can only hope that the owners of the boats involved are taken care of.

Warning… Don’t view if you have a weak stomach!

That is sickening! How can they not engineer these things for snow load? It is an unusual amount but structures are not supposed to be engineered to "average" loads.

It's amazing no one was hurt, I feel bad for all those people who's boats were damaged. They have a very big job ahead of them.

Seems like the risk of a shed covering outweighs its benefit.

Where was this?

My heart goes out to everyone who has to deal with this. Just horrible.

Obviously, snow load was not a primary consideration when they designed those sheds. They were built for sun and rain protection.

Wow. Sad for sure.

Do you have any idea how people are making out with claims on their insurance?
