PIB - Lake Erie

Was just told crews nest is closing for a week. This was an employee so don’t know details.... probably were waiting for @Great Lakes to leave :)
Haha wouldn’t doubt it.. they closed yesterday until July 22nd

We felt totally safe while on the island. Riffraft was nonexistent. Maybe because we were Sunday to Wednesday but it was a great time with no worries.. Sounds like we just made the cut for everything closing though.

In normal times, we always go Sunday through Friday and love walking in anywhere.

With that report of the testing.... They tested a thousand employees over two days. The people that work on the island come from all over the country and a lot from Europe and Russia... They stuff them in dorms and homes with multiple per room.... All kinds of shenanigans going on if you know what I mean..... And all they got was 6%?

I don't know about you but PIB sounds like the safest place to be :)

Another Flotilla out of port Clinton to PIB Aug 8th. 183 boats so far

If that Azimut is "My Alibiy" I am not sure if he would like your flag! HA!
Not sure... he did say hello...and talked for a while. I had a lot of people walk up from the street and compliment the flag.... I was a bit surprised to be honest.

Had a great weekend on the island..... it seemed for the most part boaters. It was fairly busy great weather a little windy Saturday night into Sunday.... really nice transient neighbors.... just a good time

They left out some good facts like the controversy with putting it there but some good info non the less

Great find, thanks for sharing! Really enjoyed watching this after growing up on the mainland across the water from this and not having clue about its story. I love how all the nautical charts use this as a navigational landmark, simply labeled "ship". There's no missing it!

Great video. I was there when they lifted it into place. Wonderful engineering on everyone’s part. Thanks for posting

See now I have heard so many folk lore stories...I have no idea what is true... I heard PIB wouldn’t allow the ship to be placed on the property....so the owner brought it in the middle of the night on a barge and craned it in place

As my memory serves me correctly they did not want it there but I don’t know that for an actual fact just rumors. If my memory serves me correctly they actually used The barge cranes and enormous round Like timbers to get it in place. It was definitely in the day time but they could have done it on into the night. There were many boats including mine watching for several hours.

Miller’s started taking reservations April 1st.... sold out. If this is any indicator looks like it’s going to be a good summer
