Parts info needed: 7.4l Merc water lift muffler conversion

I have a 1998 330 Sundancer with 7.4l mercs that still has the factory log style mufflers. After some problems this spring and some investigation, water seems to be getting pushed backwards up the elbow and sitting on the exhaust valves at shutdow, but apparently only on the outboard side manifold.

According to some old threads, the best fix for this is the water lift muffler upgrade. I think I read that Sea Ray might have a part number for a “conversion kit”. I need this or a parts list for doing this upgrade. Please help.

I don't think the 98 330 was affected, except maybe ones with the horizon engines which have a large valve overlap. I think it was more common on the 310 and 340. At this point you'll probably need to retrofit something.

Try contacting Centek Marine. They are an OEM supplier to many boat builders.

Yup hottoddie is spot on correct!

Just know most orders are a custom build from their molds. Been there done that on a few replacement parts. Maybe 5 weeks.
