454 Mercruisers inboard
Goodmorning!
I am new to the site and new to the world of SeaRay. I just purchased 330 1997 Sundancer in fantastic condition. I've owned smaller outboards most of my life so this is a big change for me.
Loving it so far...Day 6 Last night after a heavy rain an alarm went off next to the helm. A black face plate with a pic of a ship. Red lights were on ...a lot of them. I was on shore power and engines were not on. Ac was running and I had just turned on water heater so wife could shower. It did not show that the emergency bilge light on. Just engine lights. I checked the bilge and it was dry. I took plate off and unplugged and plugged back in and eventually the alarmed died . lights did later...Any idea what the heck might had happened

Welcome!

I wonder if the heavy rain and a "bunch of lights" were related? Perhaps a short somewhere? Did you have any water coming in at the helm area that could have made its way under the plate?

That was what I thought as well. Did not see good as it was late at night. Thanks for you reply. Always good to get other input. I am really green with this boat so I am going to learn a lot!
Adios

The "bunch of lights and shape of a boat" is the boat's systems monitor. Thew older variety is very susceptible to moisture. The usual symptom is setting off alarms when there are no alarm conditions. The fix is to remove the panel and dry the area underneath and spray the terminal blocks with a moisture displacing contact spray.

Rob, welcome to CSR. I had two '96 330's and loved them both. How about doing two things now that you're a member:
1. Post some pics of your new baby, and
2. Complete your profile so we all know where you live and enjoy your new baby.
