Hi,
So some friends invited me to come down and hang out at their place in Palm Beach this weekend. Planning to go to the boat show on Saturday. Does anyone know if there will be a Sea Ray section and how big? I think the Miami boat show has a bigger draw than this one right? Are Rusty or any of the other Sea Ray reps who participate in this going? Would be great to meet them in person after all the great stories and postings here.

Looking forward to some warm weather, and the opportunity to see boats that aren't shrink-wrapped! Then come home and shred some shrink wrap if this mid-Atlantic winter will ever give in to spring!

James

Yes it's always a nice sized display, I'm right I the marina where the show is, just look for the smallest boat in there and it's me:)

We'll be there Friday.

I was at your marina last week checking it out for a buddy of mine and I saw your 340 out there with all the big boys! First time I have ever thought a 340 looked small....

Way to represent!

Have a friend up here who jokes that they should name their 19' center console "The Outsiders"... because whenever they come to a raftup, they are always the furthest on outside with the little boats. I thought it was funny. Unfortunately, my 30' also makes me an outsider on many of the raftups up this way too!

Shaun, you mean you and Rusty?

No, sorry. Wife and I. Haven't talked to Rusty about the show yet. Not sure if he's going or not. I was gonna text him tonight.

Shaun,
If you hear from Rusty, please let us know. It would be great to meet him if he's at the show Saturday.

Thanks
James

Don't bother going unless you like being treated like a second class citizen. Once I told the salesman what boat I had and what I was looking for he pretty much blew me off. He had never seen a 250 Sundancer. No $$$ here.
We couldn't board any of the larger boats. Appointment only.
Not worth using vacation time and money.

Just a little information on the PB Show.....

First off, I wouldn't put it in the class of Miami or Annapolis. I haven't been to Ft Laurderdale, so I can't compare yet I've heard great things about that show...

Lot's of boats from jet skis to mega yachts. There was one there listed for $75million and a real monster. A couple of interesting / unique vessels but if you have a choice of shows I'm betting Ft Laurderdale is the one you want.

Just as an FYI, Sea Ray was not at the show. Though Marine Max was and Sea Ray was well represented with various models. Still, the SR 650 Fly wasn't there. I'm not sure why because it would have been well received in the PB market.

In regards to checking them out, I saw no "appointment only" signs on Sea Rays. I just talked to one of the brokers and walked on a bunch of them. But, keep in mind, these are just sales guys doing there job trying to get orders. So if they don't smell a sale they prob. aren't going to make much effort with you....

That said, it wasn't Sea Ray snubbing you Ed...

I didn't mean that I couldn't board the Sea Rays. I did and they were very nice. the larger Yachts were appointment only. Marine Max in
Fort Myers was very helpful the next day.

I must have misunderstood you. I asked if you were talking about the Sea Rays.....

In any event, yes, many of the mega yachts were appointment only. That said, if I was talking to the broker on a vessel, I was typically invited on. I had to give them a little info like name and email. But that's understandable...Most of those boats are owners boats and they don't want all of Palm Beach walking through them. I did go on a few and one triple masted 180+' motor sailor.
