Hi , we have a 2007 340 DA with Smartcraft SC 1000 gauges. we replaced the paddle wheel sensor. It is not showing speed , i checked under boat, wheel is aligned and free. In th engine bay the transducer is plugged into a 4 pin connector on starboard engine, is this correct? I have lots of slack wire with the transducer that makes me wonder that it should connected somewhere at the helm. Any ideas as to where to go from here? I realize that i also have Gps speed, but i can’t tolerate that something is not working.
Thanks in Advance

You have a triducer type transducer. It also senses depth and temp. Do they both work? Transducers do not like to be turned on when on the hard as they will get hot and burn out the circuits. If yours is original at 15yo it may need to be replaced which of course needs to be done out of the water. I've replaced Airmar B744V twice in 12 years.

I have a speed sensor as well as a separate transducer for depth and temp. . The speed is not working, i’m wondering when it is supposed to be connected, at the engine or back of speedometer

I have the same setup on our 2008 340. Both the paddle wheel and the depth/temp transducers connect to the main smart craft harness on top of the starboard engine. Those are generic transducers and in our application the cables are far longer than needed, hence the bundles.
