Pacific NW: Help requested for float plan

A lot great destinations offered. One thing to keep in mind is weather and be flexible all the suggestions are in pretty protected waters except Victoria which can be nasty in certain conditions. Sidney can be safe alternative as mentioned.

Depending on the type of boat you are renting this might be a little aggressive.

1) Sucia state park
2) Bedwell Harbor aka Poets Cove Resort. Clear customs stay night
3) If tide is in head thru Pender Canal aka Sharks passage to Montague Harbor Marina and take Tommy's Bus too Hummingbird Pub for entertainment.
4) Victoria or Sidney Marina
5) Roche Harbor Resort clear Customs Stay 1-2 nights
6) Stuart Island - Prevost Harbor State Park, nice hike to the light house.
7) Jones Island State Park. Nice walk lots of Deer.

We are now on our countdown... We push off 7-1, night 1 Port Townsend, 3 nights at Port of Sidney marina, 3 nights Genoa Bay marina, 3 nights Mill Bay marina, 3 nights Brentwood Bay marina and 3 nights Roche Harbor with Lake Union Sea Ray Rendezvous....

Getting closer.

We will be in Bellingham on Friday night 7/22.

Currently booked at Friday Harbor on 7/23.

Have some tentative holds on a couple of places, in general waiting to hear back in the morning on what dates we can get into Victoria - then will finish out the rest of the float plan.

Getting excited - bouncing around 100 degrees here in Texas. Ready for some cool weather and scenic vista's.

If you are out and about in the Islands next week - let me know. Would love to share a cup of coffee or a cocktail.

Good Luck and Enjoy! We head up on 8/2. Friday Harbor, Deer Harbor, Sucia, Stewart, Roche and FishermansBay. Easy trip this year. Return to Desolation Sound in 2017 after 10 years since. Lookn forward to that one for sure!

Have fun, and take lots of pictures for us! I'm heading up on 8/20, 2 nights in Sucia and then crossing the border and spending 2+ weeks up in the Gulf Islands. 8/20 can't get here fast enough!

Love those pictures!

I will get my phone logged back on photobucket so I can do some pics as we go.

Was talking to one of the Marina's today, they were telling me it was in the 60's. I looked down at the temp in my Jeep, it was 102 here in Texas.

Some Finalization

Bellingham 7/22
Friday Harbor 7/23
Victoria 7/24, 25
Roche Harbor 7/26

Still flexible after Roche Harbor, coming back there to clear customs. Was waiting to the marina confirmed for Victoria, that seemed to be the most difficult to get tied down. We are on the boat through the next weekend, but will just bounce around to what sounds good.

Thanks all for your help,

Will keep you posted.

Should be in the 80's in the harbor when you are here, drops 10 degrees in open water.

Northwest people,

Totally gaining some appreciation of the cruising ground here. Pretty much blown us away - on a boat, looking out and seeing snow caps.

Love the San juan islands.

We have been here a few days. Currently in Victoria, causeway floats, outstanding.

We cruised the San Juan's for the first time last summer, and will be back in a few short weeks. Simply amazing and beautiful.
