I don't think that there was an event--i.e., no major appliance causing a trip, or some such thing--but my outlets are not working, suddenly. I replaced the Breaker in the panel (which seemed to be working fine, as the light was on, when it was switched to the "on" position). The GFI seems to be operable, as it clicks when I press the "reset" button, but still no outlet power. Could it be that the GFI outlet is bad??

You dont say what boat you have. Larger boats may have more than one GFI

You say the GFI seems operable, but has no power?
That doesn't sound right.
Do you have a meter, or a circuit tester to check for power?
Just looking at the little light on an outlet isn't the best way to test it.

it's right there on my post--a 1989 sea ray 300 sundancer. the manual calls for one GFI, under the dinette. might there be two? i don't see another anywhere.

U have more then one GFI. Check everywhere … Anyplace u have a sink should have a gfi . More then one outlet can be connected to a single GFI .

Like Wyrman mentioned, something seems not quite right - whether it's the way you are testing or a weird issue. A GFI outlet will NOT reset if there is no power to it. OR, it could be a bad GFI. Whether you have more than one GFI, I do not know... but you won't have two on the same circuit (unless a PO did a no-no). Test for voltage with a meter at the wires on the back side.

Yes. GFCI outlets can go bad. The best way to check that is to remove the outlet and check for voltage on the input wires. (obligatory disclaimers about safety).

Before doing that though, check the outlet in the head.

You have three GFI. One in the head another in the galley and another in the dinett. Look in the cabinets they can be hidden well.

Mine has one out in the cockpit area
