You can’t use it, it has metal in it. They make special paint for outdrives. Check out West Marine of Defender there are several options out there.
Todd, same as your question about painting the drives. Certain paints, like Hydrocoat ECO are safe for the running gear because they contain no metals. Any paints with metals will accelerate drive corrosion.

I always used Trilux 33 on my Bravo 3s. It's all about the chemistry and not turned you outdrives into an anode.

Pettit ECO. You can paint everything with it. I did it on my last boat and currently this one with great results.
