First time boat owner for about a week. I have 2006 Sea Ray 185 sport with Alpha One outdrive. I can stand behind the boat and push the outdrive to the right (starboard) by hand with no problem. I can not move it to the left (port). It seems to steer and track correctly. I could have swore it did not do that when I looked at it before buying. I assume there is a problem. Everything in the back seems tight. No up and down movement. It's like there is no hydraulic pressure when moving the outdrive to the right. My wording/terminology could be all messed up. Thanks for any help or advise.

What you describe is completely normal for the alpha one with power steering.

I have the same phenomenon with my Bravo 3. I can easily push it toward the port side, like making a left turn. I can’t budge it to the starboard side.

That’s just the way it is.
