Well it's been a little over a month since we bought her. They found the head gasket blown and damage to two of the pistons and valve damage. So they put in a new Jasper engine. They rebuilt the Generator as well. The boat has new vinyl on the inside and out. They are repairing the trim tabs this week and hope to be in the water this up coming weekend! Looking forward to take her out for the first time!

Nice....Welcome to CSR and enjoy your 290.

We are going to Lake Texoma. GrandPappy Point. We did our first lake test on Monday. Everything did great except the new engine. It was stalling at around 3000 RPM. They think the Fuel pump is weak. So they have it back in the shop rebuilding the carb and putting in a new fuel pump. I could not believe how quiet the generator is... The blower makes more noise than it does. The mechanic working on it changed out the old muffler and put one like twice as large on it. I HOPE, it will be ready tomorrow so we can get it to the lake this weekend for a pre-memorial day run.

Anyone up on Lake Texoma? Looking to make friends with other club members.

I am at Cedar Mills. I will be there this weekend working on the boat for Memorial Weekend.

Not sure where that is in relation to Grandpappys. I went up to Grandpappys and signed on the lease today. The parts for the boat won't be in until friday. It's not going to be ready for this weekend I am sure. :( I did go up and see it today and they had just finished buffing it out. It looks like a new boat. Anyone know if a 1999 F150 with the 5.4L V8 will tow this thing? I am looking to buy a truck and have a friend willing to sell me this one cheap.

Too much boat for a '99 F150 in my opinion.

Welcome. Looks good in black!
Just splashed our 'new' 94 290 last week. Woo Hoo! What a feeling!
Enjoy it!

I believe you will be too big for the F150. It wont stop that much weight. The 290 weighs almost 11 thousand pounds. plus gear fuel and the trailer. I pull a 12 thousand pound boat with a 3500 Dually Deisel.

Well shoot.. Guess If I buy it and just use it to carry stuff back and forth to the lake. Looks like we may be getting it delivered tomorrow!

You need at least an F-250. Looks like a new BravoIII outdrive. The boat looks good!

Well I found a 1969 F-250 restored.. but I know it won't do the job... Anyone near texas selling something cheap? Yeah I don't know how fast she will go yet. We are putting her into the water tomorrow! :) I added LED lights on the back of the transom. I will upload some pictures.

may be able to get away with a 250 for short distances. forget the 150 i borrowed a 250 gasser to transport my 260 when i bought it and that was a stretch.

So we had the boat delivered today. I watched the guy with a 40ft gooseneck trailer and a Chevy 3500 load this thing in like nothin.. No major problems.. Not sure if the norcold fridge is working right. I left it on-overnight to see if that makes it work. I hear it running. also I "think" my freshwater potable water pump is out. It runs for a little while then stops. I turn on a facuet and water comes out for about 3 seconds at good pressure then it dribbles off. I am going to search the forums for known issues with that. I have some awsome pictures of our led lights ! :) I will post those tomorrow.

Find your freshwater pump (probably under midberth cushion) and clean the strainer at the pump. Also check strainers on faucets. The pink anti-freez from winterizing clogs them up.

So, good news your right I found the plastic filter and is was totaly clogged up. Cleaned it, ran the tank empty.. Cleaned and re-filled. I did this about 3 times. Then I treated it and it works great. Hot water is better than my hot water at home! :) Solved another problem.. Looks like the shower drain was clogged or something. I found the box with the pump in it.. but it was not kicking on. I took it apart and cleaned it up. That works great now. I have two problems left...

1. I am guessing the toliet is not the one that came in the boat. All the directions and manuals show a manual pump handle on the toliet. I have a button and you can hear a pump run trying to empty the toliet. It does move "a little water" but not much before you hear the pump strain really hard. "YES! My Seacock is open!" Not sure what to do about this one... Tips?

2. I have a Norcold fridge. I tried it on AC all night last night.. you can hear it running.. but it never got cold.. I tried it all day today on DC only.. Again you can hear it running.. but not getting cold. Ideas?

I love this boat.. Simply a work of art!

Toilet is fixed.. Primed the thing and now it works well. Fridge is toast I think... I can't find anyone locally that can come look at it. I am too far. Anyone know the part number for the compressor? DE0051 Norcold fridge.
