Hi All,
I am glad to be part of the searayclub since I bought a SPX 190 IB - 2016 - Mercury 4.5MPI 200HP.
We enjoyed this summer on a lake in France and as the days are getting colder it went to our dealer's marina for winterizing. The boat will likely stay 6-7 months in their storage yard, the rest of the year it stays in the water. One of my surprised comparing to previous boats I owned is that hull was pretty durty (we had it cleaned up).
I realized at that time the hull had not been painted (on top of what is done in Factory), no antifouling done either.
Now here comes my question: my dealer is suggesting that I not only get the antifouling done but also a preventive anti-osmosis treatment.
What do you think ? I am not sure how much preventive anti-osmosis treatment is really required but from what I read it costs a lot more to 'cure' it, if it ever appears.
My second question is: do i really need to get the antifouling done and then every 2-3y ? I used to do that on my previous and older boat but it was staying in the water all year long.
Thanks for your help
Denis
