Incredible video there's nothing like floating around with them breaching, we haven't seen any this year last year we had a humpback around us for about 30 minutes closest he came was about 100' from the bow.

It would take some big ones to jump in with a GoPro...but if you did, you'd probably be fine as there are ZERO recorded attacks on humans in the wild. Period. Ever. In captivity, there have been 'attacks', but you could argue that they were provoked and under extreme duress, measured in years...
Fascinating creatures. From what I've seen, they are as aware and curious about us, as we are about them. If you are quiet and let them approach, they can put on quite a show!

Sweet. We get the random dolphins once and awhile, but no orcas!

Great video, used to love that area when we lived up there, just beautiful and to see Orcas like that, can't beat it. Thanks for sharing.

That's amazing! I've been to the San Juans for the last 4 years - 2 weeks at a time in late August. We've been trying to spot Orcas but have yet to see any. I even signed up for an Orca watch newsletter, they send out Orca activity every day, so we try to anticipate where they will be, but no luck. This will be our year, we leave in less than 2 weeks, and there's been a ton of activity up there all summer so I'm hopeful.
