Looks like we’ll be vacationing in Orange Beach, AL. After Covid killed our original plans we found this. We rented a house that has a boat slip/lift and is close to the beach. Plan is to trailer my boat down. What should we see or do? Good places to take the kids looking for shells , sandbar, dolphin watch? Any good restaurants by water?

Lot of decent restaurants, not sure what is open for dine in yet, staffing problems and such. Florabama Yacht club for bar food and good place to beach and with a dock to tie up. Tacky Jack's the same. Hub Stacey's in Innerarity Point is a favorite of ours, just over the state line in Florida, nice place to launch (Galvez landing). Almost all of Orange Beach (Cotton Bayou) is no wake zone, have to get on the Intracoastal Canal to open her up or into Florida. Robinson Island in Perdido Pass is a great beach spot, will probably be packed but beautiful water. Sand Island in Florida is where we usually go, easier to reach from Galvez landing but a nice cruise from Orange Beach. Always a lot of dolphins around, especially in Big Lagoon Florida, just west of NAS Pensacola, on the way to Sand Island (I believe it's the site of Fort Mcree).
