The Blue Angels will perform their annual home show July the 9th in Pensacola and the best seat in the house is on a boat in the harbor off the Naval Base. Is anyone around this area planning on attending? It would fun to join up for the festivities.

Hampton, I know the air show would have no special thrill for you ( like me watching someone else do surgery) since you used to be up there, but the company and comraderie would be fun.

Frank??

Orange Beach guys-- we could form a parade to represent the Redneck Riviera!

Louisiana Guys: My condo complex in Fort Morgan has several extra slips you could transient in for free if you wanted to make the trip.
Whaddya think???

Not me......we'll be in PCB with our kids and grandkids. Besides, the Thunderbirds were at the Tyndall air show back in the spring and we got a dose there. For t hose of you who have never been to the Pensacola Air Show, it is the best opportunity to see precision flying at its finest, but be prepared for it to be crowded.......real crowded...like walk from boat to boat crowded.

A little last minute for us. We are heading to Pt St Joe for the 4th and I work the following weekend as penance.

This may turn out to be a fun event. Keep me posted if you think you can make the run. Website says the show starts at 2pm. Pensacola is a roughly 12-15 mile run from orange beach but with a lot of no wake speed areas and with the expected crowd, it may take 2-3 hours to make that distance. If the weather is accomodating, then a run outside the pass to Pensacola will provide lots more space and speed potential. I will be coming from the west on the intercoastal waterway and can meet up with you there at your marinas. Vince I know you're at Barbers, I've been there many times, very nice place. Dont Worry, where do you keep your boat??

Anyone else up for the event?

In biloxi and was planing to go that way will be at warf 7/7/11 wife wants to spend the night shoping lol

Weather is looking good at this point.
If y'all want to do a parade, I will probably head out of my slip in Ft Morgan about 8am on Saturday the 9th. It will take me an hour to get to The Wharf and we can join up along the way. Barbers is several miles to the east of The Wharf on the way to Pensacola. From Barbers marina it is 23 to 25 miles to Pensacola and could be slow going with traffic and the multitude of no wake zones.
VinceR and Dont Worry, are yall gonna be up for this one?
DontWorry, If I remember right, you are at The Wharf.
DustinL, will you be around for this event?

Twyant: While at the Wharf, eat at Villagios, a great Italian restaurant! Guy Harveys is there too and used to be very good, but last time I was there it was crappy. Emailed the national Guy Harvey president and he acknowledged it was crappy too, and they were going to try a turnaround with it or close it.

Doc, I would absolutely love to go, however, we are going through re-accreditation right now (very stressful) and the surveyor showed up today (unannounced as usual). He's coming back tomorrow to finish up (If he doesn't find any issues) and said he should be finished by noon.

Man, we soooooooo need a get away!!!

I'm a Disney Nut, so I'm in the process of trying to put the first mate together in booking a whole week in Orlando around the 21st of this month. If every thing goes well tomorrow, we might be able to get away for a quick weekend get away. Would love to meet some of you guys and gals and maybe hang out for a bit!!!

Logistically it's not gonna be feasible to take the boat, but, a quick weekend trip in the new convertible DOES sound like a winner.

Doc,
Right now we are planning to be there. We will get to Barber late Thursday pm. We will be joined by a friend from Dallas. His Sea Ray 30 is at Barber. Also, a friend from Shreveport will be there. Their Sea Ray 26 is at Barber. Our friend from the Wharf may join us on his Tiara 42. Our boat is named “WILD RICE”. If you see us give us a call on 16 or 68. You might call when you pass Barber.
We are looking forward to seeing y’all.
Vince

Kreole Kid,
We were there for both the Friday and Saturday shows. We were anchored on the west side of the bridge. I counted 178 boats anchored in that area on Saturday. I may not have counted all of them.
