was is just me or did anyone else feel the effects of the 79 percent humidity and mid 90* temp this WE.....we rafted up and swam for a couple hours in the afternoon which was really not that pleasant since the water temp was over 91*....when we got back to the dock I was just pouring sweat just sitting around doing nothing in the shade of our covered slip.....then later as we started packing things up I had to take a few breaks just to cool down and dry off some of the sweat....

just miserable IMO.....not a lot of fun in these kind of conditions.....I normally like warmer weather but this summer as been pretty brutal in the SE......

uh....Cliff.......winter is coming.

Yeah it was pretty bad this weekend. I was out for a few hours Saturday - when by the "swimming hole" but didn't see you all - passed on the lake Sunday.

yeah, I guess everything is relative.....in a few more months I will be complaining how cold it is......I guess I am just one of those chronic complainers...............

at least we don't have to pull our boats during winter and can cruise in the winter with camper canvas.....I feel for you northern guys that have a defined boating season.....

You didn't drink enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heat and Humidity are a way of life here...I guess you just get used to it after a while. I'd rather be hot and humid than deal with a winter.

C'mon up to Cleveland! You can enjoy oppressive heat and humidity along with having to shovel 8 inches of "Partly Cloudy" out of the drive!

Right there with you, Cliff--we don't have a long walk from car to slip, and barely had anything to carry this time, but I was soaked before we launched. Thankfully the weather was indecisive so we were overcast off and on, and had some decent wind Fri night for meteor watching from the cockpit, and to cool the berth through Sat morning.

(We southern boaters are spoiled, for sure!!)

Try the PNW yesterday it was 91* 74% humidity today is only going to mid 80's same humidity not complaining but I live here for the mild climate. Love being able to cruise on New Years eve with only few days we need to empty the fresh water tank. Don't think I'd own a boat if it needed to be stored away half of the year.

Yeh I probably would.

.......8 inches of 'Partly Cloudy' would cripple us here......

we have two fold up carts and normally both are loaded down...lets just say the Admiral has not figured out how to 'minimize' the things needed for a WE on the boat......

we have about 150 yards between the boat and the parking lot....but this includes a pretty steep hill down from the parking lot.....going up that hill pushing a fully loaded cart when it is 95* and 79 percent humidity can get pretty tough for a 61 year old guy who admittedly is not in prime physical condition.....I had to put a towel down on the seat of my truck to keep it from getting wet from my sweat soaked shorts....

Just got back to San Diego from a weekend on the east coast. I constantly want to move back for the cost of living, life on the water, lifestyle, etc. BUT one weekend of that humidity and I never want to leave SD again!!! We boat year round and have no humidity at all. I run way hot and get by with only running the AC in the house for about 2weeks a year. Just gotta deal with insane cost of living, property values, politics, ughhh.

I don't know anything about boating on the 'left' coast but we do enjoy boating here on the 'right' coast.....lots of inland lakes and nice coastal ports....

I guess every location has pros and cons.....

Sorry, it's so crazy hot and humid in Virginia that it's literally no fun unless you're sitting in the water or in the A/C. We even have misting fans running but the humid is just staggering with the recent heat. Can't wait for the temps to drop a bit. I don't mind heat, but Satan would have a tough time in VA right now. I miss Arizona...hot as heck but a dry heat and the water was always cooler with the flowing river/lake systems.

I know what you mean....as much as we love spending time at the lake and on the boat we are considering skipping WE's with this type of heat and humidify.....if we have to go down in the cabin to sit in the AC to get comfortable we can do that better at home....we enjoy spending time cruising and on the dock visiting with our friends....when you are so uncomfortable that neither one of these is fun maybe its best to stay at home.....

This was the first weekend all summer that we weren't on the boat because we went to visit some friends in Bethany Beach, DE. We played golf (7:54 tee time) and it was one of the very few times I've ever wanted to be off the golf course. I drank more water in four hours than I normally do in a week. I lived in Houston for 28 years and this east coast heat/humidity easily rivals anything in Houston.
