I have a 2002 230 bowrider, but I don't know how that compares to a '97. We love ours and think it is just the right sized boat - large enough for 10 people but small enough to trailer.
Ours has a porta-potty in a compartment on the port side and a good-sized storage compartment on the starboard side. And it has a table that comes in very handy when eating lunch on the lake.

I have a 98 210 BR with a 5.0 EFI. We are very happy with it. It is well built with quality materials and seems to be better made than some of the newer models of equal size. It really comes down to how well the previous owner took care of it.
