would you guys think this would be enough to have the prop serviced? how much does it usually run to have a prop reconditioned / balanced? you see the nick on the upper right. I haven't noticed any undue vibration / running issues

Steve, that doesn't look too bad, but it might be worth your time and money to have them reconditioned. I had two 95 330's (the first one got wrecked by a BUI boater). When I bought the first one I was pleased with the way it ran--no noticeable vibrations, etc.

A friend suggested I get the props tuned because he said he could feel a vibration. I did, and was amazed when I put the props back on as to how smooth the boat felt.

I don't know what the cost would be in your area. They base their charges on time and materials to fix the props. Yours shouldn't take much of either and you'll be amazed at the difference in how the boat runs.

They will come back balanced and smooth running. I had mine “prop scanned” and they also gave me a detailed report on them including the measurements and what the difference was and the final result.

I had 2, 24" x 24" 4-blades prop scanned and repaired for $1100 5 years ago in Northern California if that helps any.

Hey Steve, not sure where you are in North Jersey, but Atlantis Propeller in Cinnaminson NJ (South, about 6 miles south of Burlington) do an awesome job. Had my s/s BIII props done last fall and they came back beautiful. They do use Prop Scan. Very reasonably priced too. Quick turn around too. The # is (609)231-0106 .

thanks all. the boat is in Haverstraw NY , im going to inquire at the neighboring boat works , but I hope its not a hefty bill as I have some other items scheduled , like batteries / charger / carpet!

I also had the props on my '89 340da done about 10 years ago and I think that bill was like $500 for the pair. I made such a huge difference.

I would get them done.... If not, once u go in your in.... You don't wanna have to pay for anther haul and blocking or diver.... Right there alone is prob the cost of the props being fixed....
