You sure that is an oops...looking at the corrugate siding it looks like it has happened a couple of times. Another reason not to trust the forklift driver at the storage yard.

Yikes! That's tough.

How about this (more embarrassing than physically damaging, but still "oops worthy" for sure)....

My next door neighbor came up river at high tide during one of the full moon tides and overshot the channel. Unfortunately he cut back on the throttle when he saw marsh grass going by underneath him.

Do you know how many permits it takes to get a front end loader onto a tidal salt marsh?

Is that your boat John??

No. My wife and I stayed at another local marina last night to celebate a friend's birthday. We went for walk and found this at the local SR dealer. We were checking out all kinds of window screens on friend's boats at the SR dealer.

Why not a barge and crane?
A combination of things. The water is actually quite shallow off the bank for quite a way into the river. A crane with enough scope to reach the boat would have to be on a barge that drew too much water to get up the river.

The tide cycle was also receding so it wasn't going to float off at high tide. The boat was about 300 yards from a road, so it was faster to bring a front end loader over the marsh on plywood sheets, dig a hole for the boat to slide into at high tide. Afterward they came back and filled in the hole.

Henry.

that looks like a hurricane/tornado toss.

I think I saw some pictures of this tragedy on a local website a while ago. I believe that this happened on the tickfaw river not too far from "The Prop Stop", a local watering hole only accessible by boat.

Here is a pic of a 52DA that ran aground on Lake of the Ozarks. I didn't take this pic. According to the Water Patrol report, he swerved to miss another boat and ran up on a sea wall. Supposedly no alchohol was involved.

Bottom Line--Any other pics of that boat? I remember the post when it ran up onto the wall.

And we have a winner!

He doesn't need bottom paint with that set up..
